Please read these terms before using Silo. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Silo is a community grocery price tracking service operated by Stillridge Labs ("Stillridge Labs", "we", "us"), a sole proprietorship registered in Alberta, Canada. The service includes the Silo mobile application, this website, and related APIs. Silo helps users track grocery prices, build shopping lists, compare stores, and manage household pantry data.
Silo is intended for users aged 13 and older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age. Because Silo collects account information and price submissions tied to your account, we do not knowingly permit users under 13 to register. If you are under 18, we encourage parental awareness of your use of the service.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or create technical or legal risk for other users or Stillridge Labs.
Silo is a community-sourced service. Price data comes from real users who have scanned products in real stores. By using Silo, you understand that:
When you submit community data to Silo - price observations, new product entries, or new store locations - you grant Stillridge Labs a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, store, and distribute that contribution as part of the Silo service and Stillridge Labs' aggregated market intelligence products. This licence survives account deletion - your submissions are retained as part of the community dataset. Internally, all submissions remain associated with your account for moderation and quality control purposes, including admin notification when new products or stores are submitted. Publicly, prices are displayed without personal attribution, and catalog entries (products, stores) do not show who created them - other users see only the data itself, not who contributed it.
You agree to submit only accurate information that you have personally observed. Do not submit false, fabricated, or malicious data, including bogus or offensive store names, product names, or descriptions. We may remove submissions, throttle further contributions, and suspend accounts that appear to be spamming, manipulating, or gaming the system.

Silo Pro unlocks additional features including full price history, the Trends tab, deal score, price alerts, all-store comparison bars, and aisle-sorted shopping mode. The free tier remains fully functional without a Pro subscription - core features (scanning, lists, pantry, household sharing) are never gated.
Silo Pro is in development. At the time of writing, Pro purchase is not yet available in the app. We will publish pricing, billing terms, cancellation policy, and refund policy in a future update to these Terms before purchase is enabled. Until then, Pro features may be granted by Stillridge Labs to early users on request - contact [email protected].
The Silo app, its design, code, and branding are owned by Stillridge Labs and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Silo app without explicit written permission.
Product information (names, brands, package sizes, images) sourced from Open Food Facts is subject to the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Prices submitted by users are licensed as described in Section 5.
Silo is provided "as is" and "as available." Stillridge Labs makes no warranty, express or implied, that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate. Price data comes from community submissions and may be inaccurate. You use the service at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Alberta and Canadian law, Stillridge Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Silo, including losses from relying on inaccurate price data. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Silo shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees you paid Stillridge Labs in the six months immediately before the claim arose, or (b) $25 CAD.
Silo may offer a points and badges system to recognize your contributions to the community. The following terms apply:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Stillridge Labs (the registered trade name of the sole proprietorship operated by Todd Zmetana) and its agents and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of Silo in violation of these terms; (b) price data or other content you submit to the service; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
Before filing any claim in court, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Calgary, Alberta. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, unless you and Stillridge Labs agree to an alternative dispute resolution process.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Silo after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
You may stop using Silo and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 survive termination.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these terms otherwise remain in full force and effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Stillridge Labs regarding Silo and supersede any prior agreements.
